Discount Air Ticket RULES & REGULATIONS

1. The JST discount ticket

With your JST discount ticket, there are a number of restrictions that you should be aware of before you book your flight.

1 JST Discount Ticket restrictions are only applicable to JST, and differ from Airline restrictions.

2 Neither the outgoing flight nor the return flight can be changed, except that the return flight can be changed on an open ticket.

3 No change can be made in the route plan.

4 When you have purchased a round-trip ticket, a penalty will be charged for non-use of the return trip.

5 The price of the JST Discount Ticket will not be subject to change after the reservation, except in the event of a sudden increase in general airfare rates, fuel surcharge, etc.

6 When you book a JST Discount Ticket, you will be charged a booking service fee. This booking service fee will not be refunded if the booking is cancelled.

7 JST Discount Ticket is valid only for use in the sequence provided in the ticket from the place of departure to the final place of destination. If you don’t use the flight coupon of the first sector and start your travel at any agreed stopping place on the ticket, the whole ticket will lose its validity.

2. Payment

Please pay the deposit fee and the rest of the fare by the date specified by JST, otherwise your reservation may be cancelled.
Once the reservation is cancelled, it may be difficult to book the same flights again especially in peak seasons.
Please note the following:

※ Before departure, JST will send you an E -Ticket copy.

※ You may be denied permission to board at the airport if JST has not received payment in full.

※ During peak seasons, we may not be able to make the round trip reservations as requested for an international flight from Japan. In such cases we will refund your payment in full.

3. Cancellation and rescheduling fee of Discount Air Tickets

1 If circumstances arise forcing you to cancel, reschedule, or add an additional flight, handling fees will be charged as shown in one of the table A to D below. JST informs you the applicable table for your flight when booking.
※A cancellation fee will be also charged if a passenger other than that written on the ticket wants to use the same ticket.

※If the last day of cancellation or rescheduling any flight coincides with national holiday, airline office holiday or JST holiday(every Wednesday, New year holiday), the previous working day will be the last day to cancel or to change your flight schedule.

2 When flights are fully booked we will add you to the waiting list and do our best to reserve your seat. You will be charged a deposit fee at that time. However, if you decide to cancel before we inform you that the waiting list is cleared, or we are unable to book your seat, you will be refunded this deposit fee. In the case where you cancel after being informed, you will be charged a set cancellation fee.

3 If you need to change schedule after starting the trip, please contact with the airlines you fly with by yourself.

4 If you request to JST for arrangement of seat class up-grade, you will be charged a handling fee of ¥5,500 per request, and the fee set by each airline.

4. Local arrangement information to be aware of

You will be charged a cancellation fee for all local arrangements such as train, bus, hotel, entrance fees, event tickets etc., in the case of flight delays, cancellation or other reasons.

5. Hotel Booking Service Fees

1 If you purchase Hotel coupons, you will not be charged a hotel booking service fee for JST Discount Air Ticket holders.

2 If the hotel fee is required to pay on the local side, you will be charged a hotel booking service fee of ¥3,300 on per reservation basis for JST Discount Air Ticket holders.

3 If you don’t purchase a JST Discount Air Ticket, you will be charged a hotel booking service fee of ¥3,300 on per reservation basis.

6. Disclaimers / Limits of liability

JST cannot be responsible for loss due to the following circumstances:


1 Any losses due to changes in flight schedules because of natural disasters, wars, riots, civil disturbances, strikes, or airline overbookings. These kinds of problems should be taken up with the airline company directly.

2 If you miss a connecting flight due to changes in flight schedules or delay (in immigration, customs, or baggage handling, for example) that are beyond your control, see the airline company involved. JST cannot be liable for any resulting losses.
※Act as instructed by Airline in the case of items 1 and 2.

3 You must bear full responsibility if you miss your flight due to problems related to visas or re-entry permit.
※Reservations must be made in the name that is on your passport.
※ When using a one-way ticket, certain countries such as the United States require a visa. Make sure that you have all visas necessary for your transfer and final destination.
※ If you are not a Japanese citizen you may need to have a re-entry permit. For further details, please ask the nearest immigration office.

4 If you are late to the prearranged meeting time and cannot board the flight. please note the following.
※ Be careful during peak times. There may be heavy traffic and the airport may be crowded.
※ Flight schedules sometimes change without advanced notice. Confirm your departure times before each flight, particularly your return flight and all connecting flights.

7.  Miscellaneous points to watch out for

1 Passengers with chronic illnesses, physical disabilities, or pregnant passengers must notify us at the time of booking.
Please note that certain restrictions may apply, including possible denial of boarding.
Personal information requiring special consideration—such as the nature or degree of a disability, medical condition, or medical history—may be shared with third parties strictly to the extent necessary for travel arrangements.
By applying for this service, passengers shall be deemed to have consented.

Passengers who wear or carry medical equipment, or who require the use of a wheelchair, may be required to make advance notification to the airline and/or carrier, and to submit required documentation (such as a medical certificate written in English).

Passengers who fall under categories (1) or (2) below are requested to contact us by phone as soon as possible.

Any costs incurred in preparing such documents shall be borne by the passenger. Depending on the airline or carrier, a medical certificate containing specific prescribed information may be required.

If the above notifications are not made in advance and the relevant condition is discovered on the day of departure, boarding may be denied by the airline. In such cases, any cancellation charges shall be borne by the passenger, and We shall not be held liable for any resulting loss or damage.

(1) Advance notification to the respective airline is required for passengers who fall under any of the following categories:

  • Passengers who wear or carry medical devices such as pacemakers
  • Passengers who carry liquid medical supplies such as insulin (including syringes and needles)
  • Passengers who require wheelchair assistance at the airport
  • Passengers who carry medical equipment due to illness or other medical conditions

Note: Restrictions may apply to the carriage of syringes or needles in carry-on baggage, depending on the quantity and form.

(2) Even in the cases listed below, advance notification and/or submission of documentation may be required, depending on the airline.

  • Passengers who carry a walking cane
  • Passengers who carry medications other than over-the-counter drugs sold at pharmacies, including prescription medicines that require special authorization (such as those containing narcotic or controlled substances)
  • Passengers with asthma who intend to carry and/or use medical devices such as nebulizers, inhalers, or CPAP machines

2 The price of the JST Discount Ticket does not include airport taxes, insurance fees, or fuel surcharges.

3 Seat assignment requests cannot be made when booking a JST Discount Ticket.

4 Please contact the airline directly regarding mileage accrual, registration, and related services. JST is not responsible for any matters related to mileage programs.

5 JST will assist with issues related to hotels for which we have issued vouchers. For hotels where we have only made the reservation on your behalf and you pay the hotel directly, you must resolve any issues directly with the hotel.

6 The Immigration Office has the final authority regarding entry and disembarkation.

7 Please check directly with the airline for baggage allowance and weight limits.

8 We are unable to refund the visa fee or visa handling charge even if a visa application is rejected.

9 In some cases, it may not be possible to reserve the flight you request even if the request was made in advance, particularly during peak seasons.

10 JST will use your personal information, within relevant parameters, when applying for travel-related services for the purpose of communicating with customers, making arrangements with transportation agencies and hotels, and offering you useful travel information or campaigns.

8. AII other matters will be decided according to travel industry regulations and common sense.
